Finally, most people in Texas believe that the credit for the creation of hamburger would be Fletch Davis’ Old Dave. He simply decided to try something new and raw ground steak grilled and served between two slices of toast with a thickness a little onion. He began serving the dish and it became an instant success, which he set up a booth at the St. Louis World’s Fair Louisiana Purchase Exposition.
Fletch Davis is also thought to be associated with the invention of French fries after he began selling tapes of fries with their hamburgers. It says they are called French fries because when you talk to a reporter, he said he got the idea for powering a friend in Paris. While Fletch Davis was referring to a friend in Paris, Texas, the journalist thinks he meant Paris, France, and so they became known as French fries.
